Did you know that the skin is the largest organ of the body? It consists of three layers: the epidermis (outer), dermis (middle), and hypodermis (bottom), all with their own functions. The skin’s primary job is to protect our bodies from external factors such as germs, temperature, and chemicals. Because our skin is so exposed to the world, it is prone to several problems, such as:

  • Allergies
  • Bug bites
  • Blisters
  • Wounds, burns, and scars
  • Rashes
  • Infections
  • Skin disorders
  • Skin cancer

It is important to take care of our skin by keeping it clean, protecting it from the sun, treating wounds or skin conditions, and not ignoring anything happening to it. In today’s market, there are many great skin products, including sunscreen, facial and body washes, ointments, scrubs, moisturizers, and so on. However, more often than not, many of these products have unwanted chemicals and fillers that many of us don’t want to expose our bodies to. Sometimes you just need a good ol’ natural bar of soap to reach for.

A Natural Antibacterial Soap

Natura-Genics® has formulated Polybiotic™ soap, an all-natural, antibacterial soap to promote immune health and cell regeneration activity. It contains ingredients that promote antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and hydrating properties. Let’s take a closer at some of them:

Grapefruit seed extract (GSE)- Rich in antioxidants, GSE is believed to promote antibacterial and antifungal properties. Studies have also found that using GSE supports wound healing and appearance. It is likely that the high levels of proanthocyanidins, a type of polyphenol, trigger the release of growth factors in the skin.

Coconut oil- Coconut oil promotes antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It contains lauric acid, which may act as both a bacteriostatic and bacteriocidal agent, preventing bacteria from multiplying or killing the bacteria.

Palm oil- Palm oil supports healthy and supple skin. It may promote skin elasticity and assist in improving the appearance of wrinkles and dark spots.

Glycerin- Glycerin is popularly used as a humectant, which attracts moisture in the air to hydrate the skin.

Lavender oil- Believed to promote antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Uses for Polybiotic™ Soap

Wound Cleaning

Cleaning wounds is incredibly important to help prevent infection. It is recommended to thoroughly rinse the affected area with lukewarm water. Once the wound is a little less sensitive, you can incorporate the use of Polybiotic™ soap to promote the prevention of infection and quicker healing. Some studies have found that grapefruit seed extract may promote less scarring during healing.

Acne

Acne is a common skin condition caused by clogged pores. Different types of acne include fungal, cystic, hormonal, and nodular. Pores can become clogged when bacteria, oil, or dead skin block hair follicles. Fungal acne, in particular, occurs when hair follicles become infected with the fungus Malassezia yeast. Polybiotic™ promotes antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that can assist in cleansing the skin and soothing some of the effects of acne. It also encourages antifungal effects, which may be especially beneficial for fungal acne.

Eczema

Eczema, also known as dermatitis, is an inflammatory skin condition that can cause itchiness, dry skin, rashes, blisters, and even infections. It is often caused by environmental factors or allergens. Hydrating and anti-inflammatory ingredients found in Polybiotic™ soap can help relieve some of the symptoms associated with eczema, such as dryness and itchiness.

Fungal Infections

Fungal infections can happen anywhere in the body. Some common fungal infections are athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch, and yeast infections. They can cause unwanted and contagious symptoms, so it is important to treat them promptly. Using a natural antibacterial soap can help promote the prevention of spreading and assist in eliminating fungus.

Everyone’s skin is different and responds to certain ingredients differently. But the next time you are dealing with a skin condition and want to try something natural, consider Polybiotic™ soap; it might just become your new go-to. You can purchase Polybiotic soap here on Health Hispanica®!
