How It Works

Lecithin is a fat found in foods and is not made up of one single substance but instead is a group of chemicals belonging to compounds called phospholipids. Phospholipids are very important for healthy cells. The primary source of lecithin is soybeans, and it typically contains phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol, and phosphatidic acid.

Supports Heart Health

Lecithin is believed to promote reduced “bad” LDL cholesterol and increased “good” HDL cholesterol. Too much LDL cholesterol may cause fatty plaque buildup in the arteries, causing them to clog and cause heart damage. HDL cholesterol assists in flushing out LDL cholesterol, reducing the risk of blockage.

Supports Cognition and Memory

Lecithin Forte™ contains phospholipids that promote a healthy memory. Phospholipids have been demonstrated to be important and effective carriers of essential PUFAs, e.g. docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) to the brain. Memory and cognition may decline with reduced amounts of these PUFAs. Choline, in particular, is important for healthy brain tissue.
