How It Works

Oregano is an herb closely related to herbs such as mint and thyme, which is used not only to flavor food but also for its therapeutic properties. Oregano oil contains important compounds in its leaves and small stems. Two of the main ones are carvacrol and thymol. The leaves and stems must be dried and steam-distilled to extract as many of these beneficial compounds as possible.

Promotes Immune Health

The oils of oregano are widely recognized for their antiviral and antimicrobial properties. Research has shown that oregano oil has strong antioxidant properties and shows promising results in assisting with the relief of symptoms associated with the flu as well as inhibiting both human and animal viruses in vitro. Carvacrol is most likely responsible for promoting oregano’s effectiveness against viruses.

Supports Anti-Fungal Activity

Thymol, one of the compounds found in oregano oil, promotes antifungal effects and may assist in alleviating Candida fungal infections such as oral thrush, athlete’s foot, and yeast infections. Some studies have found that oregano may be just as effective as traditional antifungal medications. Besides being antibacterial and antiviral, carvacrol also promotes potent antifungal effects.

Recommendations

As a dietary supplement, take one (1) softgel two(2) times daily with meals.
