5 TikTok Health Trends We Can Get Behind
The world is changing in terms of how we get information and research advice. One-third of Gen Z relies on TikTok as their main source of health information. 66% of millennials and 56% of Gen X turn to social media for health advice. Even Boomers are spending more and more time researching everyday ailments and advice on social media. And while TikTok is changing the game, the truth about health and wellness is evergreen. So, with all the content out there, how can we trust what information we see? Are the TikTok trends we see (or hear about) healthy or harmful? We’ve looked at some of the top trending health claims on TikTok over the past couple of years and are sharing five trends that we approve and can get behind.
-
Sleepy Girl Mocktail
One of the most popular trends we've seen is the Sleepy Girl Mocktail. This delightful drink is a blend of tart cherry juice, magnesium, and sparkling water or a probiotic drink. Tart cherry juice is a natural source of melatonin, which can help you fall asleep faster. Adding magnesium, known for its calming properties, makes this drink a perfect bedtime treat. We found that the Natura Genic’s Magnesium Glycinate Capsules were super easy to pop open, pour in, and mix for a quality dose of magnesium at bedtime.
We’ve tested the sleepy girl mocktail and give it our stamp of approval! It helped us wind down and prepare for a good night’s sleep. Just a tip: be mindful of when you drink it, as the cherry juice might promote urination which could disrupt your calm and sleep!
-
Nature’s Cereal
Next up is Nature's Cereal. This trend replaces processed breakfast cereals with a refreshing mix of fruit topped off with coconut water. It might sound a bit unconventional, but it’s a delicious and hydrating way to start your day, packed with antioxidants. The original poster, Sherwayne Mears (@natures_food) went viral for his simple recipe of pomegranate seeds, blackberries, blueberries, and a splash of coconut water straight from the source. Now you can find many variations and recipes of nature’s cereal across TikTok and food blogs.
In addition to improving digestion, Sherwayne Mears swears by the energy boost it provides, claiming “I literally felt like I could run a marathon.” We tried it and found Nature’s Cereal to be a great, energizing start to our mornings. Give it a try and see how it powers up your day!
-
Yellow Dragon Fruit Cleanse
Yellow Dragon Fruit is trending for its natural gut-cleansing properties. This simple trend involves eating yellow dragon fruit to help with constipation and detoxifying the body. Although our team hasn’t tried it yet, the overwhelming consensus on TikTok is that the Yellow Dragon Fruit Cleanse works wonders. While the initial effects may be unpleasant, most testers agree that how they feel the next day is worth it: energized like never before with mental clarity and a positive mood!
Yellow Dragon Fruit is rich in fiber and acts as a natural laxative. However, many TikTokers warn that it should come with a caution label: it can cause stomach rumbling and frequent bathroom visits, so plan accordingly! Some expert tips include canceling your plans for the rest of the day and starting with a small amount to avoid potential stomach cramps. If you’re too nervous to give the fruit a try, consider Natura Genic’s Intestinal Cleanser Kit or Colon Detox™ supplements to promote similar effects.
-
Bed Rotting
A more controversial trend is Bed Rotting, where you spend the day doing absolutely nothing but lounging (or rotting) in bed. Participants often engage in passive activities such as watching shows, scrolling on their phones, reading, napping, and eating. The idea is to completely unwind and destress by doing absolutely nothing. The benefits are that some report feeling rejuvenated both mentally and physically after a nice long bed rot. We can get on board with the bed rotting trend to take a load off for mental and physical health, this trend should be practiced in moderation.
First, too much inactivity can lead to physical and mental health issues, including depression. Second, this trend may mess with your circadian rhythm, disrupting your sleep for the next few days or more. Finally, an extended period of doing nothing – think all weekend long – could lead to muscle atrophy and poor circulation. So, if you need a day to “rot” in bed, go for it, but remember to balance it with activities that get you moving and keep you socially engaged. Maybe set an alarm to ensure you don’t overdo it. And to experience the promised calm of this trend without hibernating, consider trying a nervous system support supplement like Relax+™ or GABA+™.

Aloe Vera Drink
Lastly, drinking Aloe Vera has garnered attention for its numerous health benefits. Aloe vera is praised for its anti-inflammatory properties, detoxification, improved gut health, and hydration. Many TikTokers have tried drinking Aloe Vera daily and report that it improves digestion, leads to clear and glowing skin, and even lowers blood pressure.
And for every influencer promoting the trend, there seems to be videos of agreement from health experts and nutritionists. So, what do you have to lose? Give the aloe vera trend a try. There are even recipes for aloe vera mocktails and cocktails. Just make sure you choose a high-quality brand of Aloe Vera liquid, like Natura Genic’s Aloe Vera Gel Complex™, to ensure you’re getting the best benefits.
So, there you have it– a handful of TikTok health trends that get our seal of approval. While it’s tempting to dive headfirst into every new trend that pops up on your For You Page, a little discernment goes a long way. Remember, the best health advice doesn’t always come with a catchy hashtag. Stay curious, stay informed, and most importantly, stay hydrated (because apparently, that’s half the battle). Happy scrolling, and may your health journey be as delightful as a perfectly ripe dragon fruit!
